I’m at Benihana with a group of my friends. Keith is there, Paul is there, and some smaller, funny Asian guy is there too. Anyway, I make my bowl, and it contains four eggs, scallions, mushrooms, and another green vegetable. There’s nobody working at the Benihana, so we all start taking on different roles. I remember talking to a an older woman figure and we were supposed to fill out an application for something and there was a space at the bottom and it referred to being trans and I initially mark out no to one of the trans questions but then there’s another one that’s like are you OK with living as both and I left it checked yes and I look up and Keith is there and I’m waiting for him to say something but he just goes about filling out his own application and I I’m like “oh he doesn’t care” I also remember him looking at me and pointing at a question on the application referring to childhood trauma. He said, “This is very important: once you write down your childhood trauma, you can’t change it, so make sure you don’t get it wrong - but he didn’t understand why. I said, “Because if somebody hurt you, people are going to go after them, and they don’t want to go after innocent people who were wrongly accused of something.” I’m back in line - I have my bowl in hand, waiting in line for a spot at what has basically turned into a Korean barbecue-style grill. I look up, and Paul is there heating up the grill as if he used to be a chef or something. He pulls out the spatulas, starts heating the grill, and begins making food. It was actually pretty funny.
